We are delighted to announce that Impact North West Schools has successfully retained its status as an Inclusion Quality Mark (IQM) Centre of Excellence.

Following a rigorous review, the IQM report found that we provide "rich evidence of a school that is deeply committed to inclusion, underpinned by a values-led culture, and a highly reflective leadership team." This accreditation recognises our ongoing efforts to ensure every young person who walks through our doors is given the opportunity to succeed.

An Evolving Provision

TAs we have grown, we have remained focused on enhancing the support we offer our students and their families. The review noted that our "provision has gone from strength to strength in terms of its inclusive offer," particularly during a period where we have expanded our staff and facilities to meet increasing needs.

The report highlighted several areas where our approach is making a real difference:

  • A Calm and Purposeful Environment: The assessors observed that "the learning environment across the school is calm and purposeful, set by the adults who maintain a calm presence."

  • Effective Support Systems: We use standardised structures and "lesson menus" to support our students. According to the report, "the consistency of approach, combined with flexibility and responsiveness, ensures that students are not only able to access learning but are supported to thrive both academically and personally."

  • A Supportive Staff Team: Our colleagues described a "positive working environment" and a "supportive team approach" where communication is consistent and underpinned by kindness.

  • A Relentless Focus: The review concluded that we demonstrate a "highly effective and deeply embedded inclusive ethos, characterised by strong leadership, reflective practice, and a relentless focus on meeting the needs of every student."

A Message from our Headteacher

"Retaining our Centre of Excellence status is a moment of great pride for all of us at Impact North West Schools. This award is not just a badge; it is a true reflection of the hard work, dedication, and unwavering kindness shown by our staff, the resilience of our incredible students, and the strength of our whole school community. At Impact North West Schools, we are committed to redefining what success looks like for young people who may have previously struggled in mainstream settings. By prioritising relationships and understanding that behaviour is communication, we create a space where students feel safe to learn and grow. This recognition belongs to everyone who contributes to an environment where every young person is supported to thrive."

The Impact on Our Students and Families

Ultimately, our success is measured by the progress of our students. One of our pupils shared their experience, saying: "The teachers have helped me a lot. My attendance has gone from 20% to in the 90s and my confidence has built." For many of our students, we have become "a safe place" where they can truly be themselves.

The feedback from parents also reminds us why this work is so vital. One parent noted that we have "brought a light back into [my child’s] life… they’re not in constant fight or flight anymore," while another shared, "It is like day and night - his confidence has increased, he can communicate effectively. It’s changed our lives."

As we look to the future, we remain committed to sharing our inclusive framework with the wider educational community across the North West.
