LGBTQ+
at Impact North West Schools

At Impact North West Schools, our commitment to creating an inclusive, welcoming, and kind environment is at the very heart of everything we do. We proudly support the entire LGBTQ+ community across our schools and the wider region - ensuring that every young person, staff member, and family feels safe, valued, and celebrated for exactly who they are.

We are currently working towards achieving the Rainbow Flag Award - a national quality assurance framework for schools and colleges. The award focuses on LGBTQ+ inclusion and visibility.

Here is a brief look at a few ways we foster visibility, equality, and support within our school community:

Inclusive Policies & Protections

We maintain a strict zero-tolerance approach to discrimination. Our staff, pupil, and anti-bullying policies explicitly protect individuals from homophobic, biphobic, and transphobic bullying , while actively ensuring that all pupils and staff can be their authentic selves.

Dedicated Safe Spaces

Through student-led progress, we host our weekly "Everyone Belongs Club". This lunchtime hub provides a dedicated, creative safe space for LGBTQ+ pupils, allies, and anyone looking to connect and share experiences.

Staff Alliance & Visibility

Our staff are engaged and proactive in embedding positive representation. From displaying clear visual cues like pronouns in staff email signatures to creating interactive, educational curriculum opportunities , we work to make LGBTQ+ visibility a normal, everyday part of our culture.

Trans Inclusion Toolkit

The Trans Inclusion Toolkit provides advice for parents, teachers and school staff who want to make a difference but may not know where to start. It gives staff the tools they need to create a safe, affirming space where trans and non-binary students can start to build our futures without fear.

It helps build a culture of respect, understanding, and real inclusion – something every student deserves.
