Mike Liddell
Chair of Governors

I have worked exclusively in co-education, comprehensive secondary schools in the Wirral for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2020 in my final post as Head teacher at Oldershaw.

The main focus of my career has been to provide ‘hands on’ pastoral support to all in my care. I worked closely with families to strive for  the best outcomes for all children regardless of their background.

All  of my schools focussed on preparing pupils for life after school,  ensuring they had the personal and academic tools, plus the aspiration and confidence needed to succeed.

I hope that my time in education has impacted equality, equity and inclusion upon the school communities I have been so fortunate to serve

I am delighted to support the inspiring work of Impact North West Schools.

Chair of the Proprietor Board

I am honoured and proud to be the Chair of the Proprietor Board for Impact North West Schools. I am an accomplished senior leader with extensive experience and a deep commitment to supporting the most vulnerable children in our community. With a career dedicated to transforming lives, I have specialised in overseeing key areas such as Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), behaviour management, and safeguarding in local secondary schools. These experiences have developed my skillset and knowledge in shaping inclusive, safe, and nurturing educational environments. Before founding Impact North West Schools, I played a pivotal role in designing and implementing strategies that addressed complex barriers to learning. My leadership has consistently driven improvements in outcomes for children and young people, ensuring that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has access to exceptional education tailored to their needs. In establishing Impact North West Schools,my vision has been brought to life, creating an independent specialist provision that delivers bespoke and high-quality support. This innovative provision reflects my unwavering passion for equity in education, empowering children with the tools and confidence to unlock their full potential.

Jeanette Arnold BA combined Hons (Arts & Languages) P.G.C.E . A.S.T.

Jeanette has a wealth of experience across the secondary sector both as an outstanding teacher and leader of best practice in teaching and learning. Jeanette has held Assistant head positions specialising in the above as well as leading arts departments and English departments across two schools. Her work has supported whole school as well as individual departments ensuring standards have been raised from requiring improvement to excellent within one year.

She has led on key Ofsted areas of progress, structure, and behaviour for learning through her
passion for outstanding practice in the classroom, and a firm belief that every aspect of success for a learner feeds into the quality of teaching delivered. She has created thriving Teaching and Learning communities in schools and driven a collaborative vision to impact ethos, morale, teamwork and results.

Jeanette has worked alongside many educational leaders including Peter Greenhalgh and Mike
Hughes and enjoys exploring new initiatives to enhance learning in the classroom. All of this based
on 30 years of practice.  Jeanette has been a keynote speaker and training provider both locally and nationally in several settings including early years to post 16.

Samantha Robinson

I have taught on the Wirral for 30 years as a teacher of Business Studies and a pastoral lead. I am committed to getting the best results for all children in my care, through knowing the individual and adapting teaching and support plans as needs arise. It is important to me to foster excellent relationships with both the child and their family or carers because, by working as a team, results happen.

I have experience of working for national exam boards in my role as examiner and trainer. It's my belief that to deliver excellent teaching it is essential to understand the subjects you teach and the exam criteria thoroughly.

I helped start Impact Schools  in 2023 and am excited to develop my role further as Operations Director, with a clear focus on driving the quality of our provision. I am excited to be working with a team of staff who are dedicated to improving the lives and the futures of all the children in our care.

Rebecca Dutton

I spent over 35 years working in education on the Wirral. I began my career as a trained PE teacher, but very early on developed a strong passion for pastoral care, with a particular focus on behaviour and the impact it has on learning.

I served for 10 years as an Assistant Headteacher in a Wirral school, including the role of Arts College Director. In the final four years of my teaching career, I held responsibility for attendance and behaviour. As Arts College Director in an outstanding school, I was invited to deliver keynote presentations at educational conferences across the country, providing opportunities to share and develop outstanding practice between schools.

Alongside my school-based roles, I spent six years as an additional Ofsted Inspector, gaining first-hand experience of effective and outstanding approaches to behaviour management across a wide range of settings.

Following my time working at the chalk face and as an Inspector, I was employed by Wirral Local Authority to support behavioural strategies across schools. This role included establishing and monitoring Managed Moves and developing alternative provision for learners permanently excluded from mainstream education. Through this work, I came to recognise that mainstream education is not right for every learner, and that high-quality alternative provision can be life-changing for young people.

I have seen first-hand how a carefully tailored, well-taught curriculum, underpinned by a strong multi-agency approach, effective leadership and robust governance, enables the most vulnerable young people not just to survive, but to thrive. I am absolutely delighted to be part of Impact North West Schools.

Hazel Beamish

I am delighted and privileged to join the Governing Board for Impact North West Schools. As a long-standing educational leader with a career defined by a commitment to school improvement and the holistic wellbeing of children, I bring a strategic perspective rooted in over a decade of leadership.

For the past 11 years, I have served as a Primary School Headteacher. My leadership is driven by the belief that a school’s success is measured not only by its academic outcomes but by the safety, resilience, and mental health of its pupils (and staff).

In 2025, I achieved the National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership (NPQEL), further sharpening my ability to lead across multiple settings and drive sustainable, high-level school improvement.

My decision to join the Board at Impact North West Schools stems from a career-long dedication to SEND and inclusive practice. Having led in the primary sector for many years, I am acutely aware of the challenges and opportunities that exist in the "next phase" of a learner's journey. I recognise that as learner needs become increasingly diverse, the transition into secondary and specialist provision is a critical journey that requires expert oversight and a bespoke approach.

I am passionate about ensuring that the "next step" beyond primary education is one where every child feels seen, understood, and supported. By bringing my experience in primary leadership, my expertise in mental health and safeguarding and my experience as a parent to two teenagers, to the Governing Board, I aim to ensure that Impact North West Schools continues to provide an exceptional, tailored environment where every young person has the tools and confidence to succeed.
